Every Inchie Monday - Earth

When I first saw this Every Inchie Monday word as the challenge I thought of earth as in soil, then I put earth into Google and loads of images came up of Earth as a globe and I thought "Oh yes! That's probably what is meant because of it being from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" (although there was a lot of earth moved in trying to knock down Arthur's House!)  So the problem was how to do Earth as a globe floating in space on an inch in embroidery and try as I would I couldn't make it work so I chickened out and ended up doing earth as in a cross section showing the soil with roots and the grass and sky!

But then I was fiddling about in my craft room and I came across some dark spotty material and some Moda fabric and part of it really looked like the Earth - so I bit the bullet and did another one!!  Strange one to do two on but there you go!!  Please click the link to see everyone else's fine work and isn't it nice to see the sun again today?  Hooray because I really am fed up with being wet!!

Every Inchie Monday - Beer

Hi everyone - it's Monday again and hooray I have actually managed to finish this week's everyinchiemonday challenge word "beer" inchie on time!  We've been away for the weekend to The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne but the weather was horrid however we had the most amazing sea view rooms with ten foot ceilings and huge so I was very pleased that I took my embroidery bag and was able to sit in the window with natural light and sew my inchie - even if the rain was lashing against it and the sound of the sea crashing against the sand was loud! There's not much else you can do for beer but do a tankard of it so here's mine.  Have a good week, hope you all had a good Valentine's weekend and don't forget to click on the link to view other people's beers!

Every Inchie Monday - Slippers

Well it's Tuesday - I didn't really get time yesterday to finish my inchie and I have to say I rather picked a difficult way to portray this weeks everyinchiemonday challenge word - Slippers!  I know these words come from the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy now but as I have only got to chapter 4 I still don't know too much about it and I like to do diverse and unexpected so I decided I wanted to go exotic and found a picture on the internet of a pair of antique slippers which I thought I could do with picot stitch and loop stitch.  This is the picture:

And this is how my embroidered slippers turned out!!  I think they actually look better for real than on the photo but I enjoyed making them and have learnt two more stitches to add to my repertoire!! Thanks for visiting and make sure you click the link to view everybody else's inchies this week.

Every Inchie Monday - Bulldozer

Gosh how on earth do you portray a huge mechanical thing like a Bulldozer in embroidery on an inch square?  Sorry but fabric is my preferred medium - I guess I could have drawn one but it would have put the whole embroidery thing out.  So I wracked my brains and came up with an alternative .....
He is certainly a bull - do you like his ring - that took a hell of a lot of sorting and now I have a necklace that won't clasp!! And he is a dozer so I say he is a Bulldozer!!!  To view all the other inchies for this week please click on the link for everyinchiemonday
